In 2016, David James started working as a director at the newly opened Bach to Rock music school in Rocklin, California. Little did he know that just a few years later, he and his wife, Mel, would be the school's owners. The original owners, Dr. Albert Kahane, and his wife Millie, opened the school as an entrepreneurial endeavor in retirement after each had had successful medical careers. Unfortunately, both of them passed away within three years of each other. In an act of faith, confidence and generosity, the Kahanes indicated one of their last requests was for the school to remain in Mel and David's capable hands. Today, Mel and David are living out a heartwarming legacy, fulfilling the Kahanes' final wishes by enriching the lives of young musicians in the Sacramento suburb of Rocklin.
