This is a huge step for Calley, Backridge Tree Service and the local tree care industry. As a board member, Calley will have a direct impact on the tree care industry from safety training and education to state and federal legislation concerning tree care and tree professionals.
"I am humbled by the responsibility, but I can't wait to get started,” said Calley. Arborist Travis Morales has also recently received news of an exciting achievement. He has been accepted by North American Training Solutions (NATS), the world’s leading arboricultural training firm. Morales will travel to Georgia in February for a week-long training program, and after graduation will be a lead instructor for NATS. He will maintain his job as lead arborist at Backridge Tree Service, but travel several times a year around the country putting on training events.
"This is a career dream for me,” said Morales. “NATS is so exclusive, I can't believe it’s real sometimes. I accept the challenge and look forward to making a difference in the profession I love. If one climber learns something from me that will keep him safe and returning to his family every day, I've done my job."
