Recognition highlights collaboration, project delivery and transportation infrastructure expertise on one of North County San Diego's key highway corridors
SAN DIEGO, Sept. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Baker Electric is proud to announce that its Transportation Group has been recognized with a Caltrans 2026 Success in Motion Gold Award for its work on the SR-78 SHOPP Asset Management Project in North County San Diego.
The Gold Award recognizes outstanding partnership and collaborative achievement on the project, reflecting the team's commitment to communication, issue resolution, safety, quality and successful project delivery.
State Route 78 is a critical transportation corridor serving communities throughout North County. Baker Electric's Transportation Group is helping modernize the corridor with electrical and Intelligent Transportation Systems infrastructure designed to improve traffic management, roadway communication and long-term system reliability.
Baker's scope includes approximately 46,000 feet of microduct supporting high-speed fiber optic communications, along with CCTV cameras, census counters, vehicle detection systems, loop detectors, ramp metering upgrades, highway advisory systems, traffic signal improvements, safety lighting and related highway electrical infrastructure.
