Ballet Sun Valley Announces Program Details for San Francisco Ballet's Summer Performance at the Sun Valley Pavilion July 5 & 7, 2019

SUN VALLEY, Idaho, March 25, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Ballet Sun Valley announces today the program details for San Francisco Ballet's performances on July 5th and 7th in the iconic Sun Valley Pavilion. The Company will bring 38 dancers and two entirely different programs that include dances that span the spectrum of ballet, and include three highly acclaimed ballets from the Company's 2018 Unbound Festival of New Works.

The first evening, entitled Program A, will be a collection of seven pieces. Included in this performance will be works choreographed by Helgi Tomasson (Artistic Director, San Francisco Ballet), Victor Gsovsky, Yuri Possokhov (San Francisco Ballet Choreographer in Residence), and Danielle Rowe (formerly of Nederlands Dans Theater). The second night, Program B, will feature a mixed repertory-style performance with three longer ballets, all of which premiered last year in the Unbound Festival. Included in this program will be pieces choreographed by Trey McIntyre (former Artistic Director of Trey McIntyre Project), Justin Peck (Resident Choreographer and Artistic Advisor) and Stanton Welch (Artistic Director, Houston Ballet). The conductor of the Festival orchestra will be SF Ballet Music Director Martin West.

Thirty-eight San Francisco Ballet dancers, from 13 countries (Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, England, Estonia, France, Italy, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, Spain, and the United States), will perform at this year's Ballet Sun Valley.

This memorable weekend of dance will also feature an Education Program, with San Francisco Ballet dancers and San Francisco Ballet School faculty, teaching all levels of ballet to young students from around the country.
