Batch G. Brennan wanted to share a personal reflection about life and ideas using a ‘stream of consciousness’ that goes in many different directions and involves many different disciplines and takes many different stylistic forms. This objective led him to write “Ramblings of a Mad Outlaw” (published by Xlibris).

These ramblings offer a unique personal view of human life that engages readers in an eclectic mix of four diverse points of view. Using a stream of consciousness-type style, Brennan draws on his reflection about his need for human connection; his passion for the creative arts, including music, literature and painting; his understanding of human physiology, mental health, philosophy, science and Buddhist thinking; and his experiences with sailing, individual competitive sports and coaching.

The book is divided into two sections. The first simply leads readers through a labyrinth of symbols, facts and perceptions that lead to an essential beginning and end, where “all is one and one is all.” The second section offers some strategies for developing self-awareness and experiencing life differently. The object of the exercise of reading, thinking, reflecting and possibly making notes to become more connected by being disconnected, by being the same but different, and by fitting by not fitting.

“The book would appeal to the bright, curious individual who is dissatisfied with the limited views that encompass the present world. For those who have a love for beauty in a timeless sense and do not know where to look,” Brennan says.

“Ramblings of a Mad Outlaw” explores a world of time and place, of symbol and reality, of the ephemeral and the timeless, of beauty; and, it offers security in a world that may initially seem threatening. For more details about the book, please visit
