Bay Alarm Medical and Bombas Partner for Hurricane Harvey Relief

Bombas will be donating 5,000 pairs of socks to Soles4Souls (https://soles4souls.org ), a non-profit that creates sustainable jobs and provides relief through the distribution of shoes and clothing. 1,000 pairs of socks will be on behalf of Bay Alarm Medical.
“For that past few years, we’ve given a pair of Bombas socks to each new customer of our medical alert system,” says Alan Wu, Marketing Director of Bay Alarm Medical. “For each pair we’ve given to customers, Bombas has made a matching donation to the in need, at-risk, and homeless communities across the U.S.”
In the wake of Hurricane Harvey, Wu says the companies have decided to divert their socks to help victims of the hurricane.
“Harvey caused immense damage,” says Wu, “Many people lost everything they have.”
A Category 4 hurricane, Harvey battered the Texas coast August 24-25. The storm caused flooding and damage from Corpus Christi to Beaumont. In total, the storm damaged more than 48,000 homes and displaced an estimated 30,000 people.
“There are a lot of Texans in need right now,” says Wu, “This is one small thing we can do to help them get back on their feet.”
This latest effort builds on other humanitarian projects carried out by Bay Alarm Medical and Bombas. The two companies have in the past donated socks to homeless residents of San Francisco.
