Elk Grove/Sacramento, CA (PRWEB) August 29, 2015 -- The Elk Grove Auto Mall is sponsoring LiveAtTheGame, a live-update website and application that captures the action of high school football games through the efforts of mostly high school students, reporting straight from the sidelines. The program will cover 17 schools in the Elk Grove and Sacramento areas for the duration of the 2015 season.
In its fifth year, LiveAtTheGame is a unique platform that utilizes trained reporters, who attend high school football games and provide live updates using smart phone technology. These real-time updates include scores, photos, videos, coach interviews, highlights and more and are uploaded as they happen. Each reporter attended a training session where they learned key reporting techniques in addition to step-by-step instructions for gathering and uploading their work to the live site and application.
"The Elk Grove Auto Mall wanted a way to become more consistently involved in the community and we believe that this program is a great way to do that," said Maggie Tadlock, President of the Elk Grove Auto Mall, "It is a great program for everyone involved. The reporters are gaining real-life sports journalism experience and all of the parents, teachers and other fans who can't always make the games now have a resource that allows them to be there from anywhere through pictures, videos and live updates!"
This Friday, August, 28 2015 will kick off the start of the Live at the Game season with coverage of 8 games. Each reporter is provided with an official press pass, set of business cards and informational cards that they can pass out during the games. Upon completion of each game, reporters are given a progress report lining out where they have done well and where they could use improvement.
The 17 schools covered in the Live at the Game program are: Burbank, Cosumnes Oaks, Davis, Elk Grove, Franklin, Florin, Grant, Jesuit, Johnson, Kennedy, Laguna Creek, McClatchy, Monterey Trail, Pleasant Grove, Sacramento, Sheldon and Valley.
