Beady AI has launched a service that allows venture capital, private equity and other investment funds to screen founders and companies before investing. Funds can also monitor their portfolio companies daily after the deal was closed.
HONG KONG, Oct. 24, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Beady AI, a provider of risk intelligence software, has launched a due diligence and portfolio monitoring service designed for venture capital firms, private equity funds and other investment funds. The service combines pre-investment screening of founders and target companies with daily monitoring of portfolio companies and their management for the duration of the investment.
For most funds, background checks on founders and companies are carried out once, during the deal process, and are rarely repeated after the investment is made. Beady's due diligence and portfolio monitoring for venture and investment funds is intended to give investors visibility into risks that develop over the holding period. These include litigation involving a founder, a sanctions designation or a change in a company's ownership.
"Investors spend a great deal of time evaluating a company before they invest, but much less time tracking what happens to it afterwards," said a spokesperson for Beady AI. "We built this service so funds can keep the same level of scrutiny in place after the deal closes. It also gives them a clear record of their diligence to share with their investment committee and their LPs."
To run a check, users enter the name of a founder, company or fund, and no documents are needed. Beady screens the name against global sanctions lists, including those maintained by OFAC, the EU, the UN and UK HMT. It also checks politically exposed person databases, criminal and most-wanted lists, court records and adverse media. The platform covers more than 100,000 public sources in 40 languages. It maps company ownership using a database of more than 200 million entities and officers, which allows users to trace beneficial owners through layers of holding companies.
The platform uses AI to confirm that results relate to the correct individual or company and to remove irrelevant matches. Beady reports that this filters out up to 95 percent of false positives. Results are delivered within minutes in a single report ranked by severity, and each finding includes a link to its original source.
Once an investment has been made, the company and its key people can be added to Beady's ongoing monitoring. The platform re-screens monitored entities every day and notifies users of new sanctions, lawsuits, ownership changes and adverse media, typically within hours. Beady also monitors public social media channels and can send daily alert summaries through messaging apps such as Telegram. Findings can be saved into reports and shared with partners, investment committees and LPs.
In addition to deal screening and portfolio monitoring, funds can use the service to screen co-investors and syndicate partners. They can also carry out KYB and KYC checks on limited partners as part of their AML obligations, and review portfolio companies ahead of an exit or secondary transaction. The service is available to the following types of investors:
- Venture capital and growth equity funds
- Private equity firms
- Family offices
- Angel syndicates
- Corporate venture capital units
- Funds of funds
- Accelerators and search funds
For crypto and Web3 funds, Beady screens the individuals and entities behind projects, including those that are pseudonymous or based offshore. It is designed to be used alongside on-chain analytics tools.
Beady uses only publicly available data and does not collect identity documents. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and accounts include role-based access controls and a full audit log. New clients can typically be onboarded within 24 hours.
