Go Independent Records has just announced the release of Beats Live! for iPhone and iPad. Made for musicians that want to practice with a true drummer and percussion player in many genres. Presented in a 'metronome style' interface with tempo control.

No beep can compete with a live drummer!

G.I. Records' creative team states that "Beats Live! is a must have for the musician that practices on his instrument at home or on the road"

It is the perfect accompaniment for any piano player, guitar player, bass player or any other instrumentalist. They get to play along with live drums and percussion in the genre they choose, with specific grooves. Of course anyone can play along at the original performed tempo but the tempo can be changed with a bpm slider making it into a full metronome . Many different tempi were played by the 2 pro players performing in the app giving the user loads of possibilities and variation. All genres were color coded for easy navigation, a musical metronome packed with around 400 loops for only $3,99

There are 2 modes available, listen mode and live mode.

In Listen Mode the user can audition any loop and let it play forever but pressing another one will stop the playing loop and start the next chosen loop. It is like an 'audition mode' for listening through the vast array of loops. Starting a new loop also resets the bpm to the original bpm the loop is presented in (and was recorded at).

In Live Mode the app has a great feature for musicians in a performing situation. Any loop pressed will let the playing loop finish first and the next chosen loop start in the same tempo, as if the drummer and percussion player switch in time to a new groove. And all loops continue to play in the tempo set by the user. Live players can keep performing with different grooves playing in the background!

Beats Live! runs in the background enabling players to use other apps on the same device.

Beats Live full content: It consists of 4 main chapters in 4 main genres,

Pop/Funk/Rock/Soca/Trap (lots of grooves, color coded for easy navigation)

Brazilian-Cuban (the main Latin genres)

12/8 (12/8 Pop grooves and Afro grooves)

Jazz (in many tempi, great for upright bass study)

Both players (Hans Eijkenaar and Jeroen de Rijk) have been awarded many times in the last 20 years in the Benelux area as top of their field. Plus, they also do concerts and clinics as a duo. The chemistry and experience of these two playing together was recorded under the best circumstances doing a live session in one big room in the best audio studio available in The Netherlands, Sound Vision Studio. Made by a former record company, now fully dedicated to building iOS tools for musicians!

Any amateur, semi-pro or pro musician can use this incredible sounding app as a reliable metronome. The same way one would use a beeping metronome app but with the full human feel, engaging groove and musical ideas of a rhythm section.

G.I. Records states that it is also a particularly useful tool for teaching music students.
