St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) February 05, 2015 -- Mohawk Industries, a globally recognized leader in flooring solutions, has ordered a custom-engineered hydraulic rubber molding press system from Beckwood Press Company.
In order to ensure Mohawk’s requirements for part thickness uniformity are met, the press will feature Beckwood’s proprietary Active Leveling Control (ALC) technology, which utilizes closed-loop control of the four press corners to ensure bed-to-ram parallelism is maintained throughout the cycle. The control system will be further enhanced with recipe functionality, as well as Beckwood’s PressLink module which allows for complimentary remote diagnostics and support from Beckwood technicians, via a standard internet connection. Additional auxiliary equipment will also be integrated by Beckwood through the PLC.
“Mohawk is excited about this new equipment, the Beckwood press will be utilized to accommodate significant growth in one of our key business segments,” said Jeff Briggs, VP Manufacturing at Mohawk.
“The Beckwood team is also thrilled to have partnered with Mohawk on a project that allows Beckwood to showcase our diverse set of capabilities as a total solution provider,” said Beckwood’s President, Jeffrey Debus. “Beckwood’s engineering, manufacturing and automation integration experience will be leveraged with the goal of maximizing the system’s impact on Mohawk’s operation.”
