By the end of 2020, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) will release the ninth edition of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. The report outlines dietary recommendations regarding nutrition, supplementation, and overall health throughout the various stages of life. New to the 2020-2025 edition will be the addition of dietary guidance for women who are pregnant. However, the report completely fails to recognize the men's role in the pregnancy equation and the critical role sperm health plays in conceiving and sustaining a healthy pregnancy.
