Bellucci Premium Comments on the Benefits of Organic Olive Oil
Bohemia, NY (PRWEB) September 28, 2013 -- Bellucci Premium responds to an article that details the benefits of olive oil and the Mediterranean diet, plus how to choose the right type of olive oil.
According to a Common Sense Health article published on September 25th titled “Extra Virgin Olive Oil Health Benefits,” organic olive oil has many health benefits, including being a healthy oil to cook with.
The article explains how the Mediterranean diet has been proven to have many health benefits. This is partly due to the presence of extra virgin olive oil, monounsaturated fats and omega-3 fatty acids in the diet. The article goes on to say, “Plus, extra virgin olive oil, when eaten raw, has a wonderful flavor that can enrich salads, pasta, bread, fish and more.”
Extra virgin olive oil is a staple in the Mediterranean diet and has the “most heart-healthy monounsaturated omega-9 fatty acids and anti-inflammatory polyphenol antioxidants of any oil,” says the article. The other benefits of olive oil include its anti-clotting properties, ability to lower blood cholesterol, reduce the risk of heart disease and cancer, and more.
Choosing the right type of olive oil is important. The article explains the types of olive oil on the market and the best ones to choose:
• Organic extra virgin olive oil- This oil is considered to be one of the healthiest oils. It is made with organic olives from the first pressing.
• Extra virgin olive oil- Made the same way organic olive oil is made, except organic olives are not used. The most nutrients are retained by the first pressing.
• Virgin olive oil- This oil is made from the second pressing.
• Pure olive oil- This oil often contains impurities as it only undergoes some filtering.
• Extra light olive oil- Mild olive oil that is highly processed.
Natalie Sexenian, marketing manager for Bellucci Premium, recommends looking for certified extra virgin olive oil when shopping. “Always make sure your oil is extra virgin,” she says. “It can be organic, Italian or from another region, but it should to be ‘extra virgin.’ This type of oil is the best quality and also has the most health benefits.”
Sexenian also advises consumers to be careful when choosing an olive oil. “Many oils are often mislabeled, so make sure the bottle is certified and includes a harvest date,” she says.
Bellucci offers three different types of oil, including an organic option, with a mild peppery flavor and fruity undertones that will satisfy any palate. Bellucci Premium Toscano extra virgin olive oil uses olives that are grown on the beautiful landscapes of Tuscany, and maintained by 3rd and 4th generation farmers. The third type of oil Bellucci produces is the finest 100% Italian extra virgin olive oil, grown in many different regions of Italy.
