According to Meghann Chilcott, Chief Technology and Marketing Officer for Benzer Pharmacy, the move is intended to assist those who formerly may have had trouble making travel arrangements with a reliable way to get in, and out, and on with life.
"One look at the big picture tells us that millions of Americans miss their healthcare appointments because of a lack of reliable transportation—3.6 million to be exact—as reported in a study conducted by JAMA Internal Medicine," Chilcott said. That Benzer Pharmacy would decide to join with Uber Health in this regard is no surprise, particularly given the organization's history of offering home delivery of prescribed medications.
