Benzer Pharmacy is proud to announce that it has teamed up with the Pharmacy Podcast Network to make its first foray into the world of internet radio. The resulting new show entitled, “The RxOwners Podcast,” is one that’s aimed at helping independent pharmacists and entrepreneurs share ideas while exploring ways to get a leg up on the business.
In the debut installment, Benzer Pharmacy Marketing Director and Show Host Colin Angle explained the podcast is dedicated to those who are passionate about the pharmacy industry. In particular, he spoke about the struggles most entrepreneurs face in building their own businesses, and how the Benzer Franchise Model fits into the solution.
“The prospects independent pharmacies have for carving out success against the big box retailers are challenging at best,” Angle said. “But with the strength of the Benzer brand behind them, those same retailers can realize cost-savings and other benefits that level the playing field.”
Listeners to the Benzer Franchise RxOwners Podcast will also hear lively and spirited talk about what it takes to open and operate a new pharmacy, and how to best deal with formularies, MTM concerns and other pain points, as well as participate in a wide range of discussion on issues such as regulatory compliance, human resources, marketing and advertising, quality control, and much more.
Launching his first podcast back in 2009, Todd Eury, Founder, and Publisher of the Pharmacy Podcast Network said that growth of the once niche audio-blog publication has now led it to prominence as the largest network of podcasts dedicated to the pharmacy profession in the U.S.
“Currently, approximately 23 co-hosts develop content for 17 different podcasts—segmented on different topics like health care law, technology, medical cannabis, senior care, and pharmacogenomics,” Eury said.
“Overall, the Pharmacy Podcast Network has a collective listener base of about 67,000 and has personalized podcast publications for national associations like the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists and the National Association of Specialty Pharmacy.”
Remarkable by any measure, but RxOwners Podcast Host Angle says those kind of results are to be expected when you’re providing content that pharmacists need but never learn in the classroom.
“Modern pharmacists are far more than the ‘pill-pusher’ rep,” Angle said. “Most wear dozens of hats over the course of any day. What we try to do on the program is give them the advice necessary to get them where they want to go—really as much on the clinical side as on the business side.”
With all that in mind, it’s no wonder why so many new Benzer affiliates speak so favorably about what the company does behind the scenes.
“Being a call away is like a lifeline,” is what Angle hears on a routine basis.
It’s not what the doctor ordered, but the pharmacist?
“That’s our story,” says Angle. “And we’re sticking to it.”
Each Benzer Franchise RxOwners Podcast episode runs between 17-25 minutes and airs monthly on the Pharmacy Podcast Network. To learn more, visit franchise.benzerpharmacy.com.
