Berkeley Executive Coaching Institute Presents Coaching Conference to Celebrate 10th Anniversary

BERKELEY, Calif., Oct. 8, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Berkeley Executive Coaching Institute (BECI) will present its first ever Coaching Conference & 10th Anniversary Celebration on November 1 – 2, 2019, featuring keynote addresses by Cheryl Porro, CTO of Thrive, and Rich Lyons, UC Berkeley's Chief Innovation & Entrepreneurship Officer, as well as 16 concurrent sessions on leadership and coaching topics.

BECI is proud to bring the Coaching Conference to the Berkeley Faculty Club to celebrate 10 years of rigorous coach and leadership training. Over 300 leaders from more than 25 countries have been certified as executive coaches through BECI's Executive Coaching Certification & Leadership Intensive, in affiliation with Berkeley Executive Education.

Participants will have a choice of two tracks on Friday, November 1, designed exclusively for graduates of the Executive Coaching Institute: Deepening Your Coaching Practice, and Building Your Coaching Business. Following the keynote by Cheryl Porro, breakout sessions include:

• Tamara Rodman, ECI graduate 2018, leader of Edelman's Chicago Employee Experience team, offering an interactive Coaching with Confidence Clinic.

On Saturday, November 2, the event is open to all, with tracks on Deepening Your Leadership and Building Your Professional Toolkit. Following the keynote by Rich Lyons, meditation teacher Lucy Kaplan will share here 25+ years of mindfulness experience by offering a session to help participants learn how to "Show Up & Choose to Be Present" in any setting. Breakout sessions include:

• David Ooley, ECI graduate 2017, leader of the Telco, Media & Entertainment Industry sales organization for Google Cloud, speaking about authentic leadership in any situation

The event concludes with a celebratory dinner and group choral session of gospel music led by Benjamin Mertz, founder/director of the Joyful Noise! Gospel Singers and music director of Skyline Community Church in Oakland.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER BIOS
RICH LYONS served as dean of UC Berkeley's Haas School from 2008 to 2018 and is currently the William and Janet Cronk Chair in Innovative Leadership. He was acting dean of the Haas School from 2004 to 2005 and executive associate dean and Sylvan Coleman Professor of Finance from 2005 to 2006. For the two years just prior to serving as dean he was the chief learning officer at Goldman Sachs. He received his BS with highest honors from UC Berkeley (finance) and Ph.D. from MIT (economics). Before joining the Berkeley faculty, Rich was for six years on the faculty at Columbia Business School. His research and teaching expertise is in international finance and his top applied interest is the "how and why" of setting strong cultures in organizations. Rich was recently appointed Chief Innovation & Entrepreneurship Officer for the Berkeley campus.

CHERYL PORRO is the Chief Technology Officer of Thrive Global. Thrive Global's mission is to end the stress and burnout epidemic by offering companies and individuals sustainable, science-based solutions to enhance well-being, performance, and purpose, and create a healthier relationship with technology. Cheryl is a huge believer in the power of small habits and chalks up her success to prioritizing good nights sleep amongst many other things.
