Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices The Preferred Realty Launches Its Dream… Innovate… Grow Scholarship Program for High School Seniors
PITTSBURGH, Pa (PRWEB) November 13, 2018 -- Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices The Preferred Realty, Western Pennsylvania and Ohio’s leading real estate company, has launched its inaugural Trade School and College Scholarship program. Three renewable scholarships valued up to $4,000 ($1,000 per academic year) will be awarded to three qualified individuals.
The Dream… Innovate… Grow scholarship is inspired by the key beliefs and attributes Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices The Preferred Realty has been built on. The sponsor will choose recipients who also embrace these ideals both personally and academically.
“Education and philanthropy hold extreme value in our company,” says Tom Hosack, President and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices The Preferred Realty. “This scholarship is not only a way for us to give back to the community, but to also promote career growth amongst local students.”
To qualify, candidates must reside within the company’s represented service area (which includes 15 counties in Pennsylvania and 15 counties in Ohio), have maintained at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA and intend to become a full-time student at a college, university or trade school for the fall of 2019. Applicants should also demonstrate leadership, volunteerism, character and an overall positive attitude.
Recipients of the Dream… Innovate… Grow Scholarship will be chosen subjectively by a special committee comprised of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices employees and/or salespersons and will be announced by late Spring of 2019.
“Dream, innovate and grow are three attributes that we [as a company] live by,” says Todd Van Horn, Vice President of Career Development for Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices The Preferred Realty. “We are very excited to provide this opportunity for young adults who also live by these same philosophies.”
The scholarship is renewable for up to the first four years of their education given that the recipient maintains a GPA of 3.25 or higher.
