Through the free StitchDirect app, available on iOS and Android, sewists can create and edit designs on a smartphone or tablet, wirelessly transfer them to the machine, and monitor embroidery progress on the same screen.
Now available online and through authorized BERNINA dealers, the b59 includes the embroidery module, eliminating the need for a separate purchase. It also comes with 268 embroidery designs, 11 embroidery fonts, and 515 built-in stitches, giving new owners what they need to begin both sewing and embroidery projects right out of the box.

Design on a Smartphone or Tablet, Stitch on the b59
Makers can create their own motifs, edit the machine's built-in designs, and use the app's Stitch Designer to build custom decorative stitches point by point. Once a design is ready, you can transfer it to the b59 wirelessly without manually moving files between devices.
The app also includes the bernette Creative Consultant, which recommends the appropriate stitch, presser foot, and needle based on the selected fabric and project.
Designed to Make the First Project Easier
The b59 pairs app-based guidance with straightforward machine controls designed to reduce the friction of getting started. Features include:
- Click & Lift stitch plate: Lifts and releases at the touch of a button, with no screwdriver required.
- Comfort needle threader: Guides users through threading the needle in a few simple steps.
- Adjustable speed control: Allows sewists to work very slowly while learning or increase the speed up to 800 stitches per minute.
- 3.5-inch color touchscreen: Provides clear navigation and control directly on the machine.
Room to Grow
The b59 offers a 4.7-by-7-inch embroidery area. Its included Multi-Position Hoop expands the working area to 4.7 by 11.8 inches, creating room for longer lettering, borders, and larger motifs. The machine's built-in design collection includes options for freestanding lace, appliqué and fringe embroidery.
For sewing and quilting, the b59 includes 49 dedicated quilting stitches, a retractable feed dog and 6.7 inches of space to the right of the needle.
