ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill., Dec. 18, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Best Brains and Recycle My Battery are partnering up to teach the next generation proper recycling habits and will be working together to make the world a cleaner and safer place.
Recycle My Battery was created by a Best Brains student, ten-year-old Nihal Tammana, and his cousin Mihir Tammana. They started the company back in August 2019 and in that short amount of time, have been able to safely dispose of over 2,000 batteries. "This is a non-profit company aimed at reducing toxic waste by recycling used batteries," says Nihal Tammana, founder of Recycle My Battery. "We are thrilled to be partnering with Best Brains to provide an effective means to recycle used batteries across all of their centers. Every year, Americans purchase nearly 3 billion batteries to power everyday objects, most of which end up in landfills. While there, they mix with rain water and leak toxic sludge into the ground. Recycling batteries helps to cut down on the excess waste left in dumps and the pollution created by having to mine for raw materials like metal. "We're excited to share a new green initiative created by one of our own students, an initiative that will expose children to problems we face today while giving them the tools needed to help solve these problems and make a change." With the help of Call2Recycle, the nations largest non-profit recycling organization, Recycle My Battery will be providing designated battery drop-off boxes at Best Brains Learning Centers for students, teachers and parents to bring in their old used batteries for recycling. Here, students will be able to learn the recycling process batteries go through and why it is so important to recycle. It's important to teach kids the importance of recycling at a young age to implement good habits and a better mindset for the future.
