OAKHURST, Texas, Dec. 22, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Tammy Betancourt, recently retired CEO and small business owner, has launched a challenge to incumbent Mark Nettuno in the San Jacinto County Commissioner Precinct 4 race. Betancourt brings over 35 years of executive-level leadership to the race, with over 20-years of experience in government relations.
"It's time for some fresh ideas and leadership, stated Betancourt. Our community is on the cusp of substantial changes, and we need a leader who can embrace technology and create a plan to address our special challenges from the taxpayer's perspective."
Betancourt's career in nonprofit management has prepared her to work hand-in-hand with the good people of San Jacinto County, and she is a natural servant leader. A staunch conservative, Betancourt worked alongside State Senator Paul Bettencourt for eight years to pass SB2, the Texas Tax Relief Bill of 2019, and is a strong proponent of tax relief, especially for senior citizens. "Our senior citizens and retirees should not have to rent their property from the government; when elected, I will work hard to create relief for all taxpayers, and especially our seniors," said Betancourt.
Other issues Betancourt will address when elected are road repairs, public safety, and open, accessible, and transparent government. "Our roads are a mess, said Betancourt. I will implement a plan to inventory our roads and approach repairs strategically so that no taxpayer is forced to beg for road repairs after years of neglect. Instead, Precinct 4 will have a publicly accessible plan to address our road issues."
Tammy supports: less government, is pro-life, pro-law enforcement and first responder, pro-second amendment, and supports securing our southern border and enforcement of immigration laws.
