ATLANTA, Sept. 24, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Betty Blocks, the leading no-code development platform, announced today its continuing partnership with Major League Soccer team Atlanta United, in tandem with its annual No-Code Event, occurring for the first time in Atlanta.
In May 2019, Betty Blocks joined together with Atlanta United to support the team's Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM) initiative. The STEAM curriculum provides needed educational materials for grades 3-12 that meets Georgia Standards of Excellence (GSE).
The program allows children and young adults to visit the Mercedes Benz stadium for a personalized tour. After they finish, they are provided access to an interactive educational mobile app for the STEAM Stadium Tour Program, built entirely by Betty Blocks to support the Atlanta community. Not only is the app equipped to be used by those who participate in the tour, but will soon be available for use by schools in the surrounding area. The app is completely interactive, allowing students to watch videos, complete assignments, answer questions, and take photos, aiming to increase engagement with the subject matter.
"At our core, we believe that what differentiates a longstanding and successful business is how much it contributes to the community and world around it," said Chris Obdam, CEO of Netherlands-based Betty Blocks. "We chose to place our first United States based office in Atlanta for very specific reasons, and it's crucial for us as a company to demonstrate that we're here for the long haul. We want to do all that we possibly can to help those around us grow as much as we do - and the perfect way to do that begins with Atlanta's youth."
"The partnership all happened quite organically," says Victor Kuppers, VP of Marketing at Betty Blocks. "Chris and I are huge soccer fans, and after Atlanta United announced that Frank de Boer, a Dutch soccer legend, would be joining as the head coach, we immediately felt that it was more than a coincidence. This opportunity combined our love of soccer, community involvement and providing encouragement to engage with technology of the future, and we're very proud to be involved with such a great cause."
Further deepening their roots in Atlanta, Betty Blocks will be hosting their No-Code Event on Thursday, October 3rd, 2019, at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Not known for following the 'standard' tech event template, attendees can expect a high-energy introduction to no-code and some signature Dutch hospitality. No-code platforms use a visual-based development environment that allows users to build apps without coding. Usually, this makes use of drag and drop modular elements and therefore, allows for those without the usually needed developer skills to create applications or platforms. The night will end with a recap of what the app has done for the children in Atlanta who have used it thus far, and what the partnership will continue to do to make a difference in the lives of the community supporting them.
