SAN MATEO, Calif., Feb. 15, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Bills.com® is accepting applications for its 2019 college tuition scholarship program through Feb. 28.
Now in its second year, the essay-based program provides exceptional students a chance to receive a $2,500 scholarship to apply toward college expenses. Applicants are required to submit an essay of 300 words or less that answers the question, "How do you plan on paying for college?"
The contest is open to graduating high school seniors who will be 18 at time of entry, as well as college freshmen, sophomores or juniors, who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study during the 2018-2019 academic year at an accredited two- or four-year college or university in the United States. Applicants must have a minimum grade point average of 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale), and be U.S. citizens or permanent U.S. residents.
The deadline to apply is Feb. 28. A selection committee from Bills.com will select one winner by March 31. Essays will be judged on thoughtfulness, completeness, quality and grammatical accuracy. The winner will be featured in the Bills.com blog, "Cents in the City," which features insights and tips on managing money and handling the financial challenges common to young adults.
Bills.com awarded its 2018 scholarship to Maya Bluthenthal of Los Angeles. A graduate of Westridge School for Girls in Los Angeles, Bluthenthal now is a freshman at Columbia University in New York. She is the current author of "Cents in the City."
