Biscom SFT Gateway Closes Common Security Gap
Chelmsford, MA (PRWEB) June 10, 2015 -- Today, Biscom, a trusted leader in secure document delivery, is releasing Biscom SFT Gateway, a new software module that integrates with Biscom SFT to automatically capture and create secure deliveries from email messages, ensuring sensitive information is delivered securely within enterprises’ email and messaging systems.
The Biscom SFT Gateway acts as a mail relay. It works in conjunction with DLP and other post-processing filters that can detect sensitive information in messages, such as keywords, text patterns, file types, and other triggers, and creates a secure delivery through the Biscom Secure File Transfer server. In addition, the SFT Gateway enables organizations to continue journaling email and file transfer activity, helping regulated industries ensure compliance. The module is available immediately to all Biscom SFT clients.
The Biscom SFT Gateway closes two document delivery loopholes, making it particularly useful for enterprises relying on multifunction devices such as scanners/printer/fax systems and those using web-based mail like Microsoft Outlook Web Access (OWA). Most MFDs do not support a secure scan and delivery method, but, with Biscom, security is extended to MFDs without any major changes to the application or integration with APIs. Users of web-based email clients no longer need to manually create a secure delivery – instead, it’s automatic, and does not require any interaction by the user.
“Combined with Biscom Secure File Transfer, our Gateway module helps our clients expand security across more types of communications,” according to Bill Ho, CEO of Biscom. “By making this enhancement, industries that need security most, such as healthcare, financial services, government, and legal, can increase their confidence in securing the information shared inside and outside their organization, and do more to ensure compliance with industry regulations.”
Biscom SFT was first launched in 2005 to solve this problem by combining a simple secure file transfer system with visualization tools that track every part of the file transfer activity, including deliveries, opens, and downloads. To date, Biscom SFT has helped more than 600 enterprises send millions of secure deliveries.
Completing its suite of secure communication products, in addition to Biscom SFT, the company also offers FAXCOM, an enterprise fax solution, and Verosync, a secure, enterprise-ready file sync and share solution. Built with a “security-first” philosophy, Biscom is a leader keeping an organization’s most important data secure.
