Bixby International Welcomes New Account Manager, Kenneth S. Hughes
(PRWEB) April 28, 2015 -- Bixby International, a custom thermoplastic sheet extruder and laminator offering one of the broadest polymer and substrate selections in the industry, has recently appointed Ken Hughes Account Manager.
As a Senior Sales and Business Development Executive, Hughes comes to Bixby with a 25-plus year track record of developing innovative relationships with strategic customers, and a vast knowledge of engineering and commodity plastics. Over the years, he has held important sales and management posts at a number of leading organizations in the plastics and chemical industries. Hughes is proud of the key role he played in helping them maintain and create significant new business income as well the relationships he has built.
Hughes comes to Bixby from Lubrizol Corporation, where he was an Account Manager for thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPU). Prior to that, he held a similar role at Merquinsa North America, which was acquired by Lubrizol in 2011, where he handled both direct sales, distribution and business development duties. Previous to that, Hughes was Regional Distribution Sales Leader at industry giant, Dow Chemical Company, leading the Northeast region sales team for Performance Chemicals and Intermediates. At an earlier position at Dow, he was Senior Account Manager, responsible for sales management and growth of distribution partners for engineering thermoplastics.
Before joining Dow, Hughes spent five years at BASF Corporation, as Senior Business Development Representative. During his time at BASF, the largest chemical producer in the world, he managed the Northeast region for engineering and commodity plastics with a primary focus on automotive, fibers, film and sheet and personal care. Hughes earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Northeastern University in Boston, MA.
