Last year, travel booking app Hopper found that more flights were discounted on Travel Deal Tuesday than Black Friday and Cyber Monday combined. Hopper collects 10 to 15 billion airfare price quotes every day and has built a huge historical archive of several trillion prices from over the past several years. The company analyzed its historical flight pricing data and found that the Tuesday following Thanksgiving has consistently offered the most significant volume of fare sales that week.
With Hopper, travelers can find great flights from their favorite carriers. They can expect special rates to both domestic and international locations, including France, New Zealand, Argentina, South Korea, Iceland, Japan, Bali, and much more.
Some airlines have already begun promoting their Travel Deal Tuesday fares, including Hawaiian Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Icelandair, Philippine Airlines, South African Airways, Avianca and Qatar Airways.
Airlines aren’t the only travel providers planning to celebrate Travel Deal Tuesday this year. Hopper has confirmed that hotels in major cities like New York, Miami, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and San Francisco will get in on the action this year with average savings up to 35%. Hotels like Hotel Angeleno, Hotel Normandie, and Conrad Miami are all planning to offer Travel Deal Tuesday promotions.
