SALISBURY, Md., July 28, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Bloosurf was recently congratulated by Federal Communications Commission Chairman Ajit Pai as the first Connect America Fund Phase 2 (CAF-II) winner to complete the 100% deployment milestone, 5 years ahead of schedule.
According to Chairman Pai, small rural internet service providers "are the foot soldiers of the digital revolution in rural and low-income America." Bloosurf is proudly one of those foot soldiers, working to support under-served and unserved communities, including working to connect hundreds of families whose children do not yet have Internet access in partnership with the Delaware Department of Education.
"We want to thank the FCC for supporting small rural Internet Service Providers such as Bloosurf and many others across the country," said Vincent Sabathier, CEO of Bloosurf. "The Bloosurf team would also like to thank the USAC for its efficient review process in the middle of this difficult environment as well as the Maryland Department of Commerce, Maryland Small Business Development Financing Authority, and the Delaware Department of Technology and Information for their support."
Beyond the compliance with CAF-II, the 100% deployment milestone was achieved at the beginning of the COVID-19 confinement period in the Mid-Atlantic region and therefore was instrumental in supporting customers who needed high speed Internet for study and work from home.
Continued Sabathier, "While we are focused on the Rural Development Opportunity Fund to strengthen and expand our network in the Mid-Atlantic area, we also stand ready to support fellow CAF-II winners that want to accelerate their deployments and compliance reviews."
