POMPANY BEACH, Fla., May 28, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Blueberry Ink moves toward full cloud computing due to the corona virus situation. For the safety of employees the company has restructured so that all employees could work from home which meant implementing new systems.
CEO Terry Wittenmyer said "Many of the things we've had to implement were things we've been wanting to do, but covid-19 has forced us do these ahead of our schedule which ultimately is good for the company. In working with our customers we've found that many of them are also working from home, which means that we are working with new communication systems at the same time our customer's are working with new systems. This has occasionally been a challenge because we've all been learning new technologies, but overall has been good for us and we believe perhaps for our customers also."
The company has accelerated their systems development plans by about 3 years. The management team effectively reviewed the 5 year plan and decided to move many of the action items into the next 6 months, rather than the next 5 years.
The current situation has certainly slowed down industry sales, however the company is taking the opportunity to reallocate resources to these new system developments. Tradeshows and large events are a large market for promotional products, so the cancellation of many of the large conventions and tradeshows has had a large impact on the industry.
Many suppliers in the corporate gift industry have begun to offer more PPE safety items such as hand sanitizer and face masks, as a promotional product. However, it's not clear yet if this will be a temporary or permanent part of the product mix.
Alejandra Castillo president of Blueberry Ink said "While no one knows how this is going to play out, we expect it may be a year before our industry sales are back to normal."
Like many companies experiencing challenges during this pandemic, Blueberry Ink is looking for opportunities to reallocate resources for the betterment of the company, employees, and customers.
