BlueInGreen Names Christopher Milligan CEO
(PRWEB) September 12, 2016 -- BlueInGreen™ has appointed Christopher Milligan, PE as its new CEO. Milligan was unanimously selected by BlueInGreen’s Board of Directors to oversee the water treatment company’s operations, resources and market strategies effective immediately. Milligan originally joined BlueInGreen as Director of Engineering in March 2012 and was later named Senior Vice President in March 2013.
A licensed professional engineer in nine states, Milligan has nearly 15 years of extensive experience in both civil engineering and water treatment while working for government agencies as well as private companies. His areas of expertise include process design, product development, facility operations and technical design.
“Chris is a very special talent,” said Board Member Steve Brooks. “He’s an invaluable asset to this company, as well as the water and wastewater industry as a whole.”
Milligan received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Arkansas and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Oklahoma. In April 2004, Milligan joined Garver, an Engineering News-Record (ENR) Top 500 Design Firm and quickly earned a senior management position. He would go on to serve as President of Menen Group as well as CFO of Aquagro, a nonprofit organization focused on advancing aquaponics through research and development.
After establishing his own consulting firm in 2011, Milligan was approached by an up-and-coming, Arkansas-based startup to further develop its water treatment technology. That startup was BlueInGreen. After learning more about the company’s solutions for water quality, he decided to come on, not as a consultant, but as an employee.
“Chris is an accomplished engineer and a natural leader,” Chairman Clete Brewer said. “We can’t wait to see where he takes BlueInGreen moving forward.”
Milligan was named to the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 list in 2013 as well as the Water & Wastes Digest Young Water Professionals list in 2016. Milligan’s work with membrane biological reactors has also led to publications by the Water Environment Federation (WEF) and the American Water Works Association (AWWA).
“In a lot of ways, I feel like I’ve grown alongside BlueInGreen,” Milligan said. “Over the last four years, I’ve seen this company go from a local startup to a recognized name in water treatment.”
Since 2004, BlueInGreen has expanded its award-winning core technology into four product lines: the SDOX® – for adaptable aeration, the CDOX® – for precise pH adjustment, the HyDOZ® – for dependable disinfection, and the SDOX-CS® – for optimized odor control. The company expects to introduce additional water treatment solutions in the coming months.
In June 2016, BlueInGreen announced its landmark 25th installation as well as its first international installation in Alberta, Canada. Like Milligan, BlueInGreen features an impressive list of accolades, including WEF’s 2010 Innovative Technology Award and the 2015 Grand Prize at the Global Cleantech Cluster Association (GCCA) Later Stage Awards.
“It’s an honor to represent such an innovative company like BlueInGreen,” Milligan said. “But the real reward is working alongside such a talented group of designers, engineers and salespeople. There’s really no limit to what we can accomplish when we Think BIG.”
