For the third consecutive year, BlueWave has been named to Inc. Magazine’s list of the top 5,000 fastest-growing private companies in America. This is BlueWave’s first ranking within the top 500, earning the company an exclusive feature within Inc.’s September issue.

BlueWave is ranked No. 487 overall on the list, also ranking No. 11 out of 78 energy companies on the list. BlueWave made the Inc. 5000 list for the first time in 2017 as America’s No. 585th fastest growing private company, and again in 2018 in the No. 1449 spot. BlueWave has also been recognized in Boston Business Journal’s Fast 50 for three consecutive years and was named Boston’s No. 1 fastest growing private company in Massachusetts in 2019.

“We are honored to have been named to the Inc. 5000 list for a third consecutive year and to have made the Inc. 500 list for the first time in our company history,” said Trevor Hardy, BlueWave CEO and Co-Founder. “This national recognition reflects the hard work and determination of our team, which has grown our company to what it is today, a best-in-class renewable energy company committed to making solar more accessible to everyone. Over the past year we’ve greatly expanded our community solar business, while continuing to develop some of the most innovative, ecologically-friendly solar projects in the country. We look forward to expanding into new markets through the end of this year.”

The Inc. 5000 annual list represents a unique look at the most successful companies within the American economy’s most dynamic segment—independent small businesses. They must to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of the 2019 deadline of December 31, 2018.

The companies on the 2019 Inc. 5000 been competitive within their markets and, as a whole, this year’s list shows staggering growth compared with prior years’ lists. The 2019 Inc. 5000 achieved an astounding three-year average growth of 454 percent, and a median rate of 157 percent. The Inc. 5000’s aggregate revenue was $237.7 billion in 2018, accounting for 1,216,308 jobs over the past three years.

“The companies on this year’s Inc. 5000 have followed so many different paths to success,” says Inc. editor in chief James Ledbetter. “There’s no single course you can follow or investment you can take that will guarantee this kind of spectacular growth. But what they have in common is persistence and seizing opportunities.”
