In the men’s bracket, many of the best players will look to win this year’s title. Reigning champion Djokovic will also be joined in this tournament by other past winners including Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, as well as Andy Murray, Stan Warwrinka, David Ferrer, and many others. Over the years, Djokovic has won this title three times, while Nadal has claimed victory twice, and Federer has won four times, including three straight from 2004-2006.
On the women’s side, past winners like Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova, Ana Ivanovic, and Caroline Wozniacki will compete with the hopes of winning another title at Indian Wells. Sharapova has won the title twice, with her most recent win coming in 2013, while Williams will also be looking for her third title and first since 2001. Wozniacki will be looking for her second title here, as will Ivanovic, who won in 2011 and 2008, respectively. Other talented players including Simona Halep, Petra Kvitova, and Eugenie Radwanska will look to dethrone Pennetta.
The Indian Wells Tennis Garden originally opened in 2000 and has been the site of this tournament ever since. Located in the Coachella valley of California, this tennis center features a 16,100 seat stadium court that will feature all the biggest matches of the 2015 tournament. There are also 11 match courts to showcase all the early round action and the venue is classified as the second largest tennis-only venues in the world.
