HARRINGTON, Australia, July 24, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Over the years, Joan Green had been told many times by people around her that she needed to write her story. These are her memories, personal recollections and life experiences that answer the question "How come you aren't bitter?" It has taken many years for her to come to a place where she has found time to reflect and put her thoughts in order. The journey she had travelled has influenced who she is today.
A member of a group Green was involved with during many years of family trauma once made a statement "We didn't believe you." This statement became the catalyst for her writing "Resilience: Memoirs of Joan Green" (published by Balboa Press AU). Her early memories are of happy times with family and the traditions that were created. She remembers having a strong foundation of a love for the Lord. She knew that Jesus loved her for the Bible told her so.
As a child, Green was sexually abused while sleeping in her own bed in which should have been safe. She did not have the words and did not tell anyone about it. It took 54 years before she felt strong enough to report this crime to the police. Her faith has been an integral part of her journey and many blessings came from her adversity. Through each crisis with help from others, Green has learned that there is hope for the future.
"Do not make life difficult by putting pressure on yourself. Listen to that inner self and find that one thing you relate to that gives you that inner strength," Green says. "My inner strength comes from my faith in knowing that God loves me."
