Boopsie Signs The Regional Automation Consortium (TRAC)
Sunnyvale, CA (PRWEB) April 27, 2015 -- Library patrons throughout Alberta will soon have on-demand access to ebooks, databases and other trusted library resources from any mobile device. Boopsie Inc., the leading mobile platform-as-a-service provider for libraries worldwide, today announced it has been selected by The Regional Automation Consortium (TRAC), the largest library consortium in Alberta, to develop a customized mobile app for its more than 170 member libraries.
A partnership of the Marigold Library System, Northern Lights Library System, Peace Library System and Yellowhead Regional Library, TRAC currently offers such databases as Academic Search Elite, Science Reference Centre and electronic resources such as Mango, Zinio, OverDrive and 3M Cloud Library to its member libraries. The customized app that TRAC will create with Boopsie will add further value to member libraries, providing their users with access to library resources at their point of need.
“Nearly half of the time that Canadians spend online is tied to a mobile device rather than a desktop computer. Libraries that serve geographically dispersed populations are quickly realizing they can engage more users at a lower cost by providing library-branded mobile apps to their community,” said Tony Medrano, CEO of Boopsie. “Organizations like TRAC realize this increasing demand for on-the-go information and we are excited to help make this transition easy for librarians and their IT departments.”
“We know our users: They want a user-friendly interface and they want access to it whenever they need it,” said Mircea Panciuk, President of the TRAC Society. “Boopsie knows scalable, reliable and easy-to-use library apps that will help us stay relevant with this mobile group of information users. We’re excited for this opportunity to apply their innovative technology to further serve our 170 member libraries and their communities.”
