WALTHAM, Mass., Sept. 10, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Benchmark, a human connection company and leading provider of senior living services in the Northeast, today announced they have been named to Boston Business Journal's 2019 Largest Corporate Charitable Contributors in Massachusetts list. The list recognizes Massachusetts-based companies that give back by contributing the most to local, regional and national charities and non-profit organizations. Benchmark was the only senior care provider to be selected.
In 2018, Benchmark donated $133,346 in cash donations and goods to organizations such as Newton-Wellesley Hospital, the Schwartz Center for Compassionate Healthcare and the CIC Venture Café Global Institute's AGENCY, a co-working and networking hub for innovators in the aging and longevity space.

In addition to its support of external not-for-profit organizations, in 2007, the company established the Benchmark One Company Fund, a 501(c)(3) organization that provides grants for associates in times of need when they can't purchase the necessities of life or meet the contingencies created by an emergency. In 2018 alone, the fund extended over $220,000 in grants to 102 requests for assistance.
Associates and residents of its 58 independent living, assisted living and memory care communities throughout the Northeast also actively volunteer, raising funds and hosting drives for local charities, such as local chapters of the Alzheimer's Association, the American Heart Association, food pantries and animal shelters. "Doing well for others is what drives each of our communities every day, whether it's caring for our residents or providing support to those who need it most in the greater communities we serve," says Grape.
