Boston Children's Museum Announces "Summer of Creativity"

Families Invited to Stretch Their Creative Talents This Summer!

BOSTON, June 23, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Boston Children's Museum invites families to stretch their creative talents this summer! Throughout July and August, the Museum will offer experiences designed to harness the power of ideas, possibilities, and making as children and families explore what it means to be creative. Themed programs, activities, and a Summer Carnival will encourage every Museum visitor to explore their creative side.

Creativity is at the forefront of a fun-filled and playful summer. The Museum welcomes all to create, play, make believe, and fantasize, all of which inspire joy and wonder while empowering visitors to visualize and problem solve.

Museum visitors can join in the special Summer of Creativity programming and activities happening under the tent outside of the Museum between 12:00pm and 1:30pm each day (weather permitting).

Summer of Creativity Themes and Events Include:

• Week of July 3 - Outdoor Play: Challenge yourself with stepping stones, balance beams, Hula Hoops, and other physical play!

• Week of July 10 - Sun Prints: Create stunning silhouettes using found objects, a little bit of water, and sunlight!

• Week of July 17 - Spin Art: Mix different colors of paint and watch them swirl together in surprising ways to make unique pieces of art.

• Week of July 24 - Bubbles: Move the fun of the Bubbles exhibit outdoors! Families will get a chance to play with and explore bubble toys as well as make their own bubbles. It's bubbles of fun!

• Saturday, July 29 from 6:00-9:00pm - Summer Carnival - Special After-Hours Event: Step right up for a fun filled night of games, unique performances, carnival food, and prizes at Boston Children's Museum's Summer Carnival. This limited capacity after-hours event will give visitors the opportunity to explore the Museum with limited crowds, unique games, performances, and fun for the whole family. • Week of July 31 - Water and Ice: Explore how ice and water feel with your hands, splash water, move the ice around with tools, watch how ice melts, and turn into water!

• Week of August 7- Balls & Tubes: Build ramps, tunnels, and pathways using cardboard, tubes, blocks, and tape. Then experiment with cars, balls, and things that roll—see how they move!

• Week of August 14 - Big drawing and painting: Draw and paint in a space bigger than a piece of paper! Explore different tools and ways to draw or paint.

• Week of August 21 - Shaving Cream: Make sculptures, scenes, and mountains using shaving cream. Squish the foam, get messy, and see what you can create.

• Week of August 28 - Stamp Roller: You may have used a stamp before and can be a great way to make creative designs. However, have you used a GIANT stamp that you move with your whole body?

The Museum is open Monday through Sunday from July 3 until September 4 in two time slots 9:00am-12:00pm and 1:30-4:30pm. Admission is only by advance registration and ticketing. Hours and Admission

The Museum is open Monday – Sunday from July 3 through September 4 with two set daily time slots, 9:00am-12:00pm and 1:30-4:30pm. To reduce touchpoints and enable timed visits, all ticketing will be done online. Members must also make reservations online. There are a limited number of visitor reservations available for each time slot. Adults, $22, children (1-15) and senior citizens, $22; children under 12 months and Museum members are always free.
