ATLANTA, May 14, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- BoxLock, the world's first internet-connected, easy-to-use delivery lock that protects deliveries from porch pirates and package thieves, today expands its nationwide availability through new partnerships with The Home Depot online and Ace Hardware's more than 5,000 brick and mortar retail locations. BoxLock continues to be available on Amazon and GetBoxLock.com.
BoxLock is the only nationally available solution that protects deliveries made by all major carriers and nearly 500,000 drivers (and counting) have been trained on the BoxLock system. Even drivers who have never before used BoxLock say the system is intuitive and easy to use; most deliveries can be completed in 20 seconds or less, making the solution faster than an attended delivery.
Delivery drivers simply press a button on BoxLock to scan the package's existing barcode tracking number. BoxLock instantaneously connects to the internet, verifying the correct recipient and confirming the package's delivery status. Only packages to that correct destination and out for delivery that day will unlock BoxLock; the system can accommodate multiple deliveries in a day.
The smart delivery lock's Effortless Tracking solution automatically collects tracking numbers for anything delivered to a specific household or business. With BoxLock's Mobile App, owners can share access by texting or emailing barcodes for one-time use, multiple uses or specific dates. This smart solution adds a greater level of convenience and safety so groceries, laundry or other items can be retrieved by an owner's approved neighbors, friends and family members. Each time the padlock is used, BoxLock generates a notification giving owners real-time updates.
"When my wife and I joined the tens of millions of other frustrated Americans unexpectedly victimized by porch pirates not once, but twice, we knew there had to be a more secure way to receive packages," said Brad Ruffkess, CEO and founder of BoxLock. "Our launch today at Ace Hardware retailers and at Home Depot online gives even more people the ability to protect deliveries and have peace of mind."
To use BoxLock, owners need a storage receptacle with a hasp to attach BoxLock, a Wi-Fi connection (2.4 Ghz required), and the BoxLock mobile app for Android or iPhone. BoxLock is available as a stand-alone padlock or in bundles that include a BoxLock, a compatible storage container and yard sign. Storage containers and bundles come in different sizes, styles and colors at a range of prices to meet varying needs.
BoxLock's proprietary Effortless Tracking works with UPS My Choice, FedEx Delivery Manager, USPS Informed Delivery and Amazon Prime. BoxLock is continually developing other agreements and is launching a special partnership with the Boston Police Foundation to thwart porch pirates in Boston, currently the fourth highest ranked U.S. city for stolen Amazon packages.
