“The Cross Still Beckons Me”: a pool of soul-refreshing poems that allows the readers to know more about the deeper meaning of the Holy Cross where Christ died for everyone. “The Cross Still Beckons Me” is the creation of published author Bradley Vaughn, a man who has been a committed Christian for over forty years. He is a man with a heart of gratitude for the many blessings he has received.
Vaughn writes, “In this book, I have tried very hard to write from the heart. My heart has been eternally gripped by the awesome power of the cross for it was Jesus who made the greatest sacrifice for the sake of humanity. While working on this book, I lost my seven-year-old godson to a rare malady. From a broken heart, I penned three poems in memory of this very special young man who displayed remarkable courage under such adverse circumstances.
“I was deeply touched by his family’s pain. In all that pain, the cross-spoke loudly and meaningfully to our hearts. The commitment of this young mother to her son’s well-being during this painful ordeal moved me beyond words. She was held up by the mighty hand of God.
“I am hoping that certain poems will bring solace to all those who have lost a loved one. Because of Christ’s encounter with the cross, we are gifted with interminable possibilities. I can look beyond my circumstances and experience a higher level of spiritual awakening. This has led me to a place where I spend more time just marveling at the beauty all around us. I am acquiring a deeper appreciation for the earth and its long-term existence. I feel that we all need to exercise more responsible stewardship of God’s creation. I am hoping that this book will serve as a constant reminder to all those who have undergone painful experiences that the cross that holds and releases my life’s greatest mystery is the same cross that can give your life its greatest victory.”
Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Bradley Vaughn’s new book provides a fascinating read as each poem has the potential to touch hearts with comforting and enlightening insights.
With this purpose, Vaughn aims to tell the readers that the cross will remain a constant reminder to all those who have undergone painful experiences and overcoming that pain could one day become their life’s greatest victory.
