Bread of Hope announces their Box of Hope drive for Venezuelan Children and Families
Bread of Hope is a faith-based, non-profit organization with headquarters in Alpharetta, Georgia. The Box of Hope campaign works to address the current economic and humanitarian crisis that continues to dramatically affect the Wayuu population in Northern Venezuela.
ALPHARETTA, Ga., Oct. 26, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Bread of Hope is driven by a passion to help the Wayuu people living in the arid Guajira Peninsula in Northern Colombia and Northwest Venezuela. Their campaign, called Box of Hope, sends donated boxes of non-perishable foods, toiletries, medicine and school supplies to aid those currently suffering from the situation in Venezuela. Falling oil prices, government mismanagement and a lack of imported goods have made it very difficult for its citizens to find basic products for survival. Scarcity on Venezuelan store shelves has left many families living on just one meal per day. Life for the impoverished Wayuu people has become even more difficult, and Bread of Hope has become a source of light and hope for the Wayuu families in Venezuela.
Anyone is welcome to participate and support the Box of Hope campaign. It involves using participants' donations to fill boxes of non-perishable food, personal hygiene products, medicine and school supplies. The large boxes cost $50 to ship and measure 16" x 12" x 12" each. They are delivered to local churches in Venezuela and distributed to Wayuu families. For a $150 donation, a pre-packed box can also be sent in the supporter's name. The person or organization donating a box or boxes will receive a photo of the family receiving it with the donor's name printed on the box. One donated box will feed a family for one month. Each box will provide an opportunity for the local church to make a connection with a Wayuu family, not only by addressing their physical needs but their spiritual ones as well.
