October Purchases on Core Products Website Support Breast Cancer Awareness Month
(PRWEB) October 10, 2013 -- Core Products International’s mission is to make life more comfortable for those suffering from chronic pain. This month they will support the cause by donating 10% of all online sales made during October to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. More than 75% of the company is women, one of whom is a breast cancer survivor.
“This issue is very near and dear to our hearts,” said Matt Nasca, E-Commerce Manager for Core Products. “Everyone here feels it’s very important to do our part for this very serious disease and contribute toward finding a cure.”
The Breast Cancer Research Foundation was chosen because 91 cents for every dollar they bring in goes directly towards scientific research. Their mission, as stated on their website, is to “achieve prevention and a cure for breast cancer in our lifetime by providing critical funding for innovative clinical and translational research at leading medical centers worldwide, and increasing public awareness about good breast health.”
In 2006, The Breast Cancer Research Foundation put together the collection of more than 1,300 human genes related to breast cancer, which is now available to scientists worldwide for studying breast cancer. According to the American Cancer Society, “breast cancer is the most common cancer among American women, except for skin cancers. About 1 in 8 (12%) women in the U.S. will develop invasive breast cancer during their lifetime.”
Core Products has installed a new banner on their website calling attention to their commitment this month. “Core for the Cure” will run through Oct. 31, 2013. For more information on Core Products International please visit: http://www.coreproducts.com.
