Breckenridge, CO (PRWEB) December 31, 2015 -- Recent fundraising efforts by Breckenridge Grand Vacations’ employees have left many Summit County families very merry this holiday season. During a busy time of the year that can leave anyone financially strapped, over 55 BGV employees and/or departments opted to donate their time, money and energy to give back to their less fortunate neighbors. “It’s heartwarming to see how willing our BGV staff is when it comes to helping others. We truly care about our community and are thrilled that the program’s reach more than tripled in just one year. This speaks volumes about the BGV family and our commitment to support those in need,” said Kimberly Tramontana, BGV’s Vice President of Operations.
This giving program was started by Tramontana and a few other employees in 2014, as the result of their passion for helping others. One BGV department chose to utilize some of their employee reward money to adopt a family in need, instead of rewarding themselves. When others in the company heard about this act of generosity, interest grew very quickly. With assistance from 22 BGV employees and/or their entire departments, the inaugural BGV Holiday Adopt-A-Family Program officially began last year, bringing joy to 69 community members, 42 of whom were children.
In 2015, the 2nd Annual BGV Holiday Adopt-A-Family Program more than tripled its success, impacting the lives of 208 community members in need, 127 of whom are children. Employees of Breckenridge’s employer of choice went well above and beyond the suggested donation of $25 - $50 per family member. While employee volunteers organized the gifts for drop-off by fellow colleagues, they noted that donations included toys, gift cards, clothing, winter outerwear, high chairs, bicycles and even an elegant wooden crib for a newborn in need. The delight on the faces of staff as they prepared to deliver these generous gifts might just have been comparable to the happiness the families experienced in receiving them.
BGV is looking forward to an even more successful 3rd Annual Holiday Adopt-A-Family Program next year. Given their demonstrated compassion and philanthropic company culture, they are on the right track to do just that.
