Brentwood Search is Recruiting Key Strategic Executives for Entertainment's Forthcoming Streaming Wars
As the streaming wars intensify, Brentwood Search is providing a vital component by recruiting key strategic executives for the entertainment and digital media industries.
EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Dec. 3, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Brentwood Search has been assisting entertainment companies in recruiting key strategic executives for the forthcoming streaming wars. This is where key media companies will be competing to capture the consumer dollar for subscriptions to the new content streaming sites that are beginning to emerge.
"I would consider this a new era in the entertainment industry," said Brentwood Search Managing Partner, Marcia Basichis. This is the time when media is transitioning from broadcast television and cable TV to the digital streaming format. To be successful, competing companies are scrambling for massive content and the executives who can determine how to make that content and where to find it. Finding it, in many cases, will be a result of mergers and acquisitions. Larger companies will partner or acquire the smaller content providers in what should be a robust time for production.
At Brentwood Search, we work with our media clients to recruit the strategy and corporate development executives personnel who are first rate at sourcing content and initiating mergers and acquisitions," said Basichis. " As a former television development executive, with several hit shows to my credit, I am in a unique position as I have depth of expertise in content acquisition and in the financial and strategic channels as well. I can find the people how will not only generate immediate profitability, during this industrial transition to streaming, but will show profit in the future as well as this industry channel continues to evolve.
Basichis mentioned that general belief in the industry is that consumers will subscribe to at most four streaming sites. She noted that to compete for one of those four subscriptions services like Amazon Prime and Verizon are seeking product tie-in's, while other companies will be cutting subscription rates.
"There is little doubt we are looking at further consolidation of the industry," said Basichis. "However, after last year's acquisitions most of the mega deals are over. It is now incumbent to source content from the smaller specialty libraries. To be successful, it is not enough for a company to just buy what's available. It is vital to staff executives who are creative and savvy, who can determine which acquisitions make sense and what content will have value in perpetuity.
"Strategy is critical," said Basichis. "And finding these sharp-eyed executives isn't easy, given the competition. Should a business hire the wrong personnel, that company can find themselves falling behind its competitors. The way things are going, if a company loses the streaming wars, then its very existence could well be at stake."
