Bright Star Schools, BCG Digital Ventures, and LA Kings Showcase Public-Private Partnership to Bring Entrepreneurial Tech Mentorship Program to Students
Select High School Students to Pitch Apps they Developed through Unique Mentorship Program at the BCG Digital Ventures Headquarters
LOS ANGELES, Feb. 10, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- What: On Friday, February 21, 2020, 26 Bright Star Schools high school students from across Los Angeles will pitch apps they've developed to solve community challenges around sports and recreation through a mentorship program with BCG Digital Ventures (BCGDV) with support from the LA Kings, at the BCGDV offices in Manhattan Beach.
The Bright Star students, the majority of whom are growing up in under-resourced communities, have been working with individual BCGDV mentors to learn design thinking, market research, app design, and more since fall 2019 and have also learned from LA Kings staff about the business of sports.

9:00 a.m. - 10:45 a.m.: Breakout Pitches in 3 Rooms
11:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.: Final Pitches
11:30 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.: Voting and Awards Ceremony
11:45 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.: Closing Ceremonies
Who: 26 high school students from Bright Star's three high schools in three communities -- Bright Star Secondary Charter Academy in South Los Angeles, Rise Kohyang High School in Koreatown, and Valor Academy High School in the San Fernando Valley -- are participating. BCGDV staff and LA Kings representatives including Daryl Evans, Jonathan Lowe, and Francisco Rivera will serve as judges.
