"A Biblical Response to COVID-19," gives hope and understanding about the pandemic
RALEIGH, N.C., Sept. 6, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Bishop Harvey Spencer never thought he'd witness and be part of a pandemic. He was able to be part of other historic events, such as witnessing the appointment of the first black president and the first female vice president of the US.
In "A Biblical Response to COVID-19," Bishop Spencer uses his observations and experience, as well as the Bible, to help those who've been feeling the divisions of the pandemic. Bishop Spencer first preached on the subject in 2020 and talked about safety precautions. From his perspective, he was able to observe how the people who came to his church felt lost and mentally drained by the events.
"I noticed the division in leadership and how people were struggling with their faith," Bishop Spencer said. "I want to help those who are confused, because of the pandemic, and to help point out which voice to follow."
Bishop Spencer has assisted the homeless, those of low-income and has helped those who have faced hardships. He has used his church for ex-offender programs and mentoring programs for girls and boys. He has also hosted an open dialogue between the men of the community and the Raleigh Police Department.
For those who may read his book, the author's goal is to save lives and provide a clearer understanding about the global pandemic and one's faith. Bishop Harvey wants people to develop concern for others, build character, and learn compassion towards others.
