EVANSTON, Ill., April 29, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Announced today, Brock Long, former Administrator of FEMA, has joined Hagerty Consulting as Executive Chairman. Long's accomplished background includes more than 20 years of disaster preparedness, response, recovery, and resilience experience. In the newly created role of Executive Chairman, Long will continue to provide the emergency management and homeland security thought leadership he implemented while at FEMA and will work with Hagerty leadership to support the firm's mission of helping clients prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters.

Long was confirmed by the U.S. Senate 95-4 and sworn into office June 20, 2017. As Administrator of FEMA, Long oversaw the federal government's response to more than 220 natural disasters and managed nearly $44 billion in disaster relief assistance. He brings extensive experience as a veteran emergency manager, having previously served as the Director of the Alabama Emergency Management Agency, FEMA Hurricane Program Manager, and Statewide Planner/School Safety Coordinator for the Georgia Emergency Management Agency.

He will begin his new role as Executive Chairman of Hagerty Consulting effective April 29.
