Broker Online Exchange Lends a Helping Hand to Uprooted Energy Suppliers and Brokers
Increased power demand due to winter storm Uri brings financial losses and uncertainty to the energy industry. Broker Online Exchange is here and ready to help!
DALLAS, March 11, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- In February 2021, the U.S. experienced winter storm Uri, bringing extreme cold temperatures to the central U.S., including Texas. As a result of increased power demand across the state and power generation disruptions, power and ancillary costs in the Electric Reliability Council of Texas ('ERCOT') service area reached or exceeded maximum allowed clearing prices.
We are already experiencing the impact of this winter storm resulting in market defaults, high energy bills, and customers being moved to market providers they did not choose. There have also been significant financial losses to market participants that will be reflected in the first quarter of 2021 and beyond.
Despite continued uncertainty, Broker Online Exchange ("BOX") has been in continuous contact with REP's and Brokers during this difficult time working around the clock to find financial, operational and tactical solutions for market participants in need. Through our vast array of industry relationships and deep financial backing, we have implemented and continue to offer creative solutions to assist market participants in this time of crisis.
BOX is ready and able to help move and contract customers for any suppliers that need their services. If you are a market participant and could benefit from the resources BOX has to offer, please reach out to Benji Coomer at 817-907-8191.
