A fierce competitor on the snow cross and hill climb circuits, Skinner has earned his reputation as a high-flyer who pushes the boundaries of snowmobiling as a sport. But his favorite part of guiding at Brooks Lake Lodge is helping build the confidence of guests and watching them overcome their fears. Especially rewarding is guiding returning guests year after year, "knowing where they started as a rider and seeing how far they have come," he says. "It doesn't get any better!" Snowmobile guide Kacy Conner's roots at Brooks Lake Lodge are deep – and romantic: it's where his parents met and fell in love, where Kacy was born and where he met his own wife. He and his wife even married at the lodge – making him a true Brooks Lake legacy. This will be Kacy's fifth year guiding snowmobiling and he "lives for winter," having started riding when his parents gifted him a 120cc Polaris at the age of two. Kacy's favorite part of the job is bringing new clients to ride in the mountains surrounding the beautiful lodge he has been raised on.
The lodge's third snowmobile guide, Jared Nichols, moved to Wyoming in 2012 after spending time in Hawaii on a Navy destroyer. The first thing he bought upon arrival in the state was a snowmobile, and it was during a trip to Brooks Lake Lodge for their notoriously awesome winter lunch when he fell in love with the area. This will be Jared's second season guiding at the lodge.
Aside from staggering amounts of powdery snow, epic riding and great guides, the lodge appeals to the appetites of the sled heads who in a typical year travel from around the world to ride, relax and eat like kings and queens.
