Bryan University Launches New Training Programs Focusing on Solar and Sustainable Energy

SPRINGFIELD, Mo., Aug. 7, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Bryan University Launches New Training Programs Focusing on Solar and Sustainable Energy

Responding to national interest in sustainable energy and projected growth in employment for the solar energy industry, Bryan University is now offering two solar training programs nationwide. The Solar Energy Technician diploma and Solar-Sustainable Energy Specialist associate of applied science degree are now program offerings in the university's School of Trades.

"We were initially encouraged by the results of our own viability study related to the need for this training and the national growth expected." said Michael Sowers, Executive Director of Bryan University's online division. "That was really brought to life by working with our employer advisory committee, many of whom are at the leading edge of technology and energy projects throughout the country."

In addition to employer guidance, the programs were developed to prepare graduates for certification from the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners. Both programs are preparing students for design, construction, and maintenance of solar energy equipment. Additionally, based on direct employer input, courses in sales, marketing, and project management were added to provide training for the business side of this growing industry. Both programs also require students to conduct a 135-hour externship in the field. "We really made every effort to serve the needs of our employers and position our graduates to realize personal and professional success," said Sowers. The programs can be completed 100% online. "Frankly, we have been offering online courses since 2006 and the advent of some incredible learning technologies mean we can reach students on their time and in their homes."
