Bryan University and V School are collaborating to create a first of its kind online program offering a degree pathway in advanced full stack web development. The program provides an accelerated route for students who cannot commit to a full-time, in-person experience. The program leverages V School's industry experts and hands-on learning methods with Bryan University's interactive online learning environment.
TEMPE, Ariz., June 13, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Bryan University (BU) and V School are pleased to announce a new online Undergraduate Certificate and Associate Degree program in Advanced Full Stack Web Development. These programs are accredited by ACCSC and offered online in all 50 states throughout the U.S. They provide an accelerated pathway for those seeking a web development career who cannot commit to a full-time, on-ground coding bootcamp experience. The programs leverage V School's team of industry experts and proven track record of hands-on, applied learning methods, coupled with BU's evidence-based, interactive online learning environment. This unique combination provides an innovative and personalized learning experience that gives students skills that are aligned with employers' needs.
Graduates of the programs will earn 60 college credits as they gain experience with industry-relevant technical competencies including HTML/CSS, JavaScript, Node, React, Python, Django, MongoDB, Mongoose, MySQL, PostgreSQL, among others. The program also focuses on soft skills that employers value such as teamwork, communication, problem solving, critical thinking, speaking and presenting, and leadership.
BU's online learning environment utilizes industry tools such as Slack, Visual Studio Code, GitHub, and Scrimba, along with mobile-responsive learning technologies including Cerego, Canvas, and Portfolium. These tools give students the ability to track progress as they skill-up and showcase their coding skills to employers. For students who need assistance during their program, BU provides live help from faculty, mentors and tutors. Upon completion, graduates receive job search assistance and career networking services.
"This new web development pathway is uniquely positioned in higher ed. It combines the evidence-based online learning technology used at Bryan with the industry expertise of V School to help ensure our students acquire the skills that employers want. It's a win-win for all involved." says BU President, Eric Evans. "It provides a clear pathway to employment while allowing students to earn college credit towards an accredited degree."
Said Michael Zaro, CEO of V School: "Bryan University's partnership with V school provides a great option for those who need more time and flexibility in gaining web development skills and aren't able to attend a more accelerated on-campus experience."
In the future, BU will offer a transfer credit pathway for students graduating from V School's on-ground Full Stack JavaScript course to receive credit towards the BU associate degree.
