Bucknell University's School of Management Awarded Accreditation
Lewisburg, PA (PRWEB) November 13, 2013 -- Bucknell University's School of Management has earned accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB), an achievement shared by fewer than 5 percent of the world's business programs.
"This is an exciting and significant accomplishment by the school's faculty and staff," said Michael Johnson-Cramer, director of the School of Management. "Not only have we strengthened our ability to compete for the best students in the world, but earning this accreditation allows us to play an even larger role in shaping the future of management education."
Founded in 1916, AACSB is the longest serving global accrediting body for business schools that offer undergraduate, master's and doctoral degrees in business and accounting. There are 687 business schools in 45 countries and territories that maintain AACSB accreditation, which is widely considered a hallmark of excellence in business education.

Reid, executive vice president and chief accreditation officer of AACSB International. "AACSB accreditation represents the highest achievement for an educational institution that awards business degrees. Achieving AACSB accreditation is a thorough process that includes conducting a comprehensive self-assessment and developing and implementing a plan to meet AACSB's standards of excellence. When Bucknell first decided to pursue accreditation, it was estimated the process would last seven years — the School of Management did it in half that time.
"The main reason we were able to move through this process so quickly is the quality of the management education at Bucknell was already so high," Johnson-Cramer explained. "In some sense this is an affirmation of what Bucknellians already knew: our faculty are doing great work and our students are getting an excellent education."
