OFallon, MO (PRWEB) July 09, 2013 -- Missouri Cancer Registry and Research Center (MCR-ARC) is one of the two state cancer registries in the country to be funded as part of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Comparative Effectiveness Research activities through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for a Special Project to help physician practices report cancer data directly to the Central Cancer Registry. BuildYourEMR™ helped Missouri Cancer Registry give a LIVE demonstration at North American Association of Central Cancer Registries (NAACCR) Annual Conference showing Real-Time reporting of cancer data by the Physician to the MCR-ARC. “Our goal was to make this very simple for physicians so they are encouraged to submit data to their State Central Cancer Registry in compliance with state reporting requirements. Once this button is clicked, the cancer report is packaged into a standard C-CDA format, encrypted using the Direct Project protocols, and emailed to the registry. At the registry side, their Direct Project-enabled workstation receives the email, uses the Direct Project system to decrypt and verify the signature before saving it in their inbox. Future versions will automatically extract these files to the directory where the registry software will automatically process the incoming files. Once the file was saved, the MCR-ARC team imported this using eMaRC Plus®, a product of CDC's Registry Plus software suite.
