LINCOLN, Neb., Feb. 24, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Bureau of Land Management is partnering with the Arbor Day Foundation for a 5-year agreement to plant trees across federally managed lands.
The Arbor Day Foundation is the world's largest membership nonprofit dedicated to planting trees. Since its inception in 1972, the Foundation has helped to plant or distribute almost 500 million trees to more than 50 countries.
"We have been looking forward to this collaboration for many years, and we're thrilled to officially announce the partnership between the Arbor Day Foundation and the Bureau of Land Management," said Bradley Brandt, senior manager of Forest Restoration Programs at the Arbor Day Foundation. "We're grateful for the trust they have put into the Foundation, and we are looking forward to meeting the challenge of preserving and restoring these public lands so everyone can enjoy them for years to come."
The Arbor Day Foundation has already supported the completion of two planting projects in 2021 with the Bureau of Land Management. These efforts included reforestation following the 2015 Cornet-Windy Ridge Fire in Oregon, as well as reforestation following disease and fire in Colorado. In 2022, the Foundation will support wildfire recovery planting in Roseburg, Oregon and continued planting in the Royal Gorge area in Colorado. Throughout the five-year commitment, the Arbor Day Foundation will continue to aid in replanting forests across the United States.
