OTJ Architects is pleased to welcome Falynn Schmidt, Associate AIA, LEED AP, as Principal and Director of Business Development. A recognized connector, community and consensus builder, Falynn partners with design teams to nurture both established and nascent client relationships through transparency and earned mutual trust. At OTJ, Falynn will spearhead the expansion of our firm’s Culture and Performing Arts, Higher Education, and Academic Arts practice areas. She will work in close conjunction with Chief Growth Office Laura Kennington, LEED AP, and acclaimed architect Gary Martinez, FAIA.
Chief Growth Officer and Partner Laura Kennington, LEED AP, remarked: “The addition of Falynn to our business development team represents the culmination of a holistic effort to mature our practice and increase both our geographic reach and our service offerings. Falynn’s values are also uniquely aligned with our firm’s own agile and client focused spirit.”
Falynn joins OTJ at a time when our work in the area of Culture and Performing Arts architecture is garnering national attention and accolades. Our renovation of New York City’s iconic Webster Hall and the Cincinnati Music Hall both recently received AIA awards in the field of Historic Preservation while our reimagining of Washington D.C.’s Mies van der Rohe-designed Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library is nearing completion. Prior to joining OTJ, Falynn led business development efforts for DLR Group’s Cultural, Performing Arts, and Higher Education practice. Falynn holds a Master of Architecture from Georgia Tech.
